Nurse
Hello, my name is Amber Comeaux. I have been a Registered Nurse since 1998 and I am very grateful to have been here at PNMS since August of 2013. I am in charge of the health and well being of our staff and students at PNMS. My goal is to always promote health and wellness for the students, staff and families. If at any time you have questions or concerns, please reach out to me. Thank you for entrusting your child to my care, it is my privilege to take care of them. Important Information
Emergency Forms
Please completely finish the emergency form information. It is very important that you inform me if your child has any medical condition, allergies or if they are taking any medication (even if the medication is taken at home). This information will help me to provide the best possible nursing care here at school. The form is located on this page or in the front office in case you missed it in the mail out packet.
Medications Guidelines (Prescription & over the counter)
- All medications both over the counter and prescription medication must be brought to the Nurse in the original container. Prescription medications must have a current label with medication directions, students name, and doctors name on the label.
- Over the counter medications: Parent/Guardian medication authorization form must be signed before medication is administered.
- Prescription medications: must accompany a physician's written prescription or a physician authorization form.
- There are district physician authorization forms available on the website below or in the front office.
- All medication must be picked by the last day of school. We do not store medications over the summer. All meds not picked up will be disposed of at 1:30 on the last day of school.
Vaccinations
Incoming 7th grade students are required to have an updated Tdap booster and a Meningitis vaccine no later than the first day of school. These two vaccines are normally given by age 10-11. Please turn those into the nurse as students receive them.

Screenings:
- Vision and hearing: All 7th grade students are required to have a vision and hearing screening done. This screening is done in the Fall semester and parent or guardian will be notified of any failures
- Scoliosis: 7th grade girls and 8th grade boys will have a spine screening for scoliosis or any abnormal curvature of the spine also during the fall semester. The nurse will notify the parent or guardian of any concerns.
- I will gladly screen ANY student that is having troubles if you wish to notify me please call the clinic at any time.
